Biography Charlene

Charlene can only be described as one of the best live female pokerplayer that Germany has to offer.

Well over 4000 National and International performances leave no doubt that Charlene is an absolute top performer, from mega stage events incorporating 100,000 plus audiences to smaller Club Events, Charlene is the Queen of the Stage when she performs.

Honest, authentic, a dash of humour, spontaneity and a BIG voice are just part of the Show. 

Charlene does not just love the Stage, the Show, but also the audience for whom she performs. Her voice range from soft to smoky rocky is unbelievable, and her delivery is unique.

The beginning and how it all started! 

Charlene wins the North German Karaoke Championships in Hamburg, after this promising start Charlene is hooked. 

She works hard to achieve her goal to be a professional Singer.

The first Shows are usually of a small nature, like Tourist Events in and around Hamburg and the Northern and East coast, for example the World known Hamburg Tourist hotspot “Reeperbahn” .

Charlene has earned her dues with her hard work, fine understanding of Music, a feeling for the stage, the audience, and the SHOW.

Her mix of Vocal House, 90ies, 70/80ies German and English language Dance and Party hits harmonise perfectly.

And because of these talents, Charlene became a guarantee for high class spot on entertainment.

DJing and live shows often come together, and after meeting Jan Wayne, the chemistry proved to be perfect between Charlene and Jan.

Jan at the time was looking for a singer to sing a cover version of the Patti Smith song “Because The Night”, Charlene was Jan’s first choice.

The sensational success of “Because The Night” was just the beginning of more to come Hits. “Because The Night” reached No.4 in the National Single Charts and stayed 10 weeks in the top 10, and is one of the most successful singles of the first half year of 2002.

The incredible amount of National and International Hits in such a short time span is truly remarkable, “Because The Night” for example achieved Gold status and reached No.1 in the Netherlands.

TV performances and Appearances for example “Viva Club Rotation”, “The Dome”  or the longest running and cult Music Show “Top Of The Pops” also Shows all over Europe and even as far away as North and South America, only go to show how successful the “JAN WAYNE LIVE SHOW FEAT.CHARLENE” really was and still is.
